Chief Marketing Officer
Melissa Stahley is the chief marketing officer at Forterro and a member of the Forterro Executive Board. She has served in this role since 2019 and, prior to that as vice president of corporate marketing for the group. As CMO, Stahley is responsible for overseeing the global marketing and product marketing efforts of Forterro's business units, as well as managing global marketing shared services and Forterro corporate and internal communications.
Stahley has nearly 20 years of experience in B2B marketing for software companies, holding director, vice president, and C-level titles at Forterro and, before that at Consona Corporation (now Aptean) and Indigo Biosystems. Throughout her professional experiece, she has managed international teams responsible for lead generation, corporate communications, telesales, product marketing, and human resources.
Stahley brings deep familiarity with the ERP market to Forterro. Throughout her career in the ERP industry, she has participated in well over 20 acquisitions and evaluated countless additional ERP product companies in due diligence. Since joining Forterro in 2013, Stahley has helped the company grow more than eight-fold, playing a driving role in the development of new business and customer marketing strategies for each of Forterro’s portfolio companies. She also plays a leading role in commercial due diligence, deal communications, and company integrations for each of Forterro’s acquisitions.
With nearly 15 years of executive experience at PE-backed companies, Stahley has had the opportunity to manage application software businesses based on all types of investment strategies, including startup, growth and buyout.
Stahley holds a master’s degree in public relations and corporate rhetoric from Purdue University and a bachelor’s degree in journalism and English from the University of Indianapolis. She also has a level III certification in product marketing from the Pragmatic Institute.
