Leading our hugely important people and culture strategy, Sharon Looney joined Forterro as CPO in October 2021. Her focus areas include the future of work, HR technology, talent trends, and especially employee wellbeing – which she refers to as our ‘human imperative’. As a result, the pillars of her Forterro People Strategy are in three primary areas – culture, leadership and community.

Sharon brings deep experience and core expertise in world-class transformation of people practices, leadership development and organisational structure. She has been at the forefront of crafting innovative HR and people programmes for some of the world’s largest multi-national corporations. Her illustrious CV includes leadership roles at Macom Technologies, Delphi Technologies, Sanmina-SCI and Flextronics International. 

A globally recognised thought-leader in the world of HR leadership, Sharon has won many awards for her pragmatic and human-centric approach to people development. These include being named HR Champion of the Year and CHRO of the Year in 2019, as well as being named in the Top 100 HR Tech Minds and Top 100 Global HR Leaders the year prior. And having worked across 26 countries, Sharon’s global and cultural awareness brings significant value and an unparalleled sense of awareness to her approach to diversity and inclusion. 

Sharon holds an MSc Degree in Strategic HR Leadership from Sheffield Hallam University. She is also a certified executive leadership coach and a registered practitioner of many people development and psychometric analysis instruments.
