Garp Launches Version 4.4 in Livestream Event
Borås Sweden, September, 2020—Today Garp announced its new version in a live streaming studio event. The broadcast was attended by almost 200 customers who actively participated via Garp's event chat and took part in a competition during the broadcast. The livestream launch focused primarily on the brand new version of Garp, Version 4.4. Version 4.4's headline is a completely new database. Existing customers can download the new version and convert their existing databases with a few clicks.
Pilot customer Imazo AB, who has been running the new version since April, spoke about the new version during the launch. Guest speaker Hans Elfstrand, IT manager at Imazo AB said, "It has worked very well. The new server has significantly greater capacity and we have a lot of transactions, many order lines, and several web servers ... We have also seen that the performance has improved significantly."
Alfred Gerum, Jeeves Product Director, spoke about Garp's quality mission over the past several years, pointing to the upgrades to the programming language and tools and, now with Version 4.4, the database. "Despite the complexity of issuing a new release, Garp is able to launch them with extremely high quality and with very few bugs," Gerum said. "This is something incredibly unique in this industry, and I think one of the primary reasons we are able to achieve it is because of the strength of the Garp community, which is filled with people who genuinely care about their customers' success and with very committed customers who want to be successful."
The Garp team also spoke to customers about future versions, including plans to improve the user interface. According to Garp's Development Manager, Florin Bud, the company will strive to build an intuitive user interface where the user experience will be central. "The system should not only be easy to use and intuitive, but it should also be fun to run Garp," Florin said.
