Friedrich Amtenbrink

Digitalising the shop floor and developing smarter processes

Friedrich Amtenbrink uses Prodaso to connect machine and operational data, providing greater visibility into ongoing production. With its planned move to the Abas cloud and the potential of new AI solutions, the company aims to continue digitalising its processes and reducing manual work.

Greater visibility across the shop floor

Friedrich Amtenbrink is a contract manufacturer specialising in thermal cutting. The company offers laser, plasma and oxy-fuel cutting alongside additional processing services, enabling it to provide customers with a comprehensive range of steel-processing capabilities from a single source.

Prodaso is helping the company digitalise its shop floor. Machine status can be viewed online at any time. When combined with operational data recorded by employees, this allows Friedrich Amtenbrink to see what is happening, on which machine and for which production order.

“Prodaso is helping us greatly in digitalising the shop floor. We can view the status of our machines online at any time.

“Instead of manually entering enquiries with many line items, the AI agent can read the PDF and transfer the items directly. This will significantly reduce the workload for our sales team.”

Reducing manual sales processes with AI

As its next step, Friedrich Amtenbrink is preparing to move to the cloud with Abas. The business also sees potential in the AI solutions presented, particularly the Sales Agent.

Customer enquiries may include a single line item or between 20 and 50 line items. Transferring this information into the ERP system currently involves significant manual effort. The AI agent can read the PDF and transfer the included line items directly, potentially reducing the workload for the sales team significantly. The company also sees relevant applications within purchasing.
