BPSC AND EDISON WILL HELP COMPANIES ENTER THE WORLD OF INDUSTRY 4.0
Two Technology Companies Make It Easier for Manufacturing Companies to Enter the World of Industry 4.0
Katowice Poland, June 20, 2018 - BPSC, the leading supplier of Polish-made ERP software for medium and large manufacturers, distributors, and service companies in Poland, today announced that Silesian, a supplier of management support systems, will partner with Edison, an EDI operator in the field of automated B2B information exchange. The partnership will result in solutions that complement the functionality of the Impuls EVO ERP system, allowing, first and foremost, quick and easy integration with third-party software. In practice, this opens up the possibility of automatic information exchange between BPSC system users and clients or sub-suppliers.
"Industry 4.0. requires automatic information exchange at every level, including the level of customer relations or subcontractors. Management systems are the foundation of the fourth industrial revolution; however, they have their limitations. For example, changing the software version used by one production company carries the risk of losing the ability to automatically send information to another. In this situation, the optimal solution seems to be the use of independent EDI platforms that allow easy process integration," explained Sławomir Kuźniak, director of product management for BPSC.
The Silesian company has signed a cooperation agreement with Edison, the first EDI operator in Poland, to help manufacturing companies adapt to the requirements of Industry 4.0. Specializing in integration and automation of B2B communication, Edison will provide tailor-made EDI solutions that complement the functionality of the ERP system developed by BPSC. EDI technology (electronic data exchange) guarantees continuity of production processes. It allows shortens the order fulfillment cycle, eliminates errors in communication with suppliers, automates processes, and improves the flow of information throughout the supply chain. EDI technology is used, among other industries, by companies in the automotive, food, and trade sectors.
"Thanks to our platform, we can connect any company with any other, regardless of its location, communication standards or IT systems. Our technology will allow BPSC customers and Impuls EVO users to automatically exchange information with their partners and suppliers, no matter what software they use," said Tomasz Kuciel, president of Edison SA.
Thanks to the Edison solution, it will be possible not only to send documents automatically, but also other data (e.g., regarding stock levels, shipment status, or a stock request).
"Thanks to the integration, and in principle, the standardization of integration with the platform offered by Edison, our clients will not have problems with software version changes," said Kuźniak. "It is also worth noting that this integration will be expanded along with the development of our clients' communication needs. It means the possibility of building business ecosystems, thanks to which business cooperation will be simpler, and above all, automated."
